The Jane Sanford Beasley Scholarship for Teaching Excellence
For the spring 2013 semester, this fund will distribute up to 25 scholarships in the amount of $2000.
Applications for the Jane Sanford Beasley Scholarship will open Jan. 28, 2013 and close at midnight Feb 8, 2013. Faculty will review applications and decisions will be made by mid-March. All applicants will be notified of results through a Secure Academic Note.
All current UTeach Natural Sciences undergraduate students seeking their first degree, including non-citizens, who meet the criteria below are encouraged to apply.
• 30 hours (in-residence + transfer)
• 2.5 GPA
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, a brief essay and input from the faculty. While you are welcome to talk to faculty about your application, you do not need to ask for recommendations. Faculty log into the scholarship site and have the opportunity to provide input about an applicant.
All eligible students are strongly encouraged to apply, regardless of previous award status. Faculty review current applications only and do not have access to any previous applications.

IMPORTANT: In order for the funds to be released, recipients must turn in a thank you note to Jane Sanford Beasley by March 18, 2013. UTeach will forward these to the scholarship honoree. Guidelines will be included in the award notification.
