Daniel FitzPatrick is clinical faculty and a Master Teacher in Mathematics with UTeach. He teaches Step 2 and Functions and Modeling, and has also supported undergraduate UTeach students in Step 1, Classroom Interactions, and Project-Based Instruction.
Before joining UTeach, Daniel taught 8th grade mathematics and Algebra 1 at Covington Middle School and Algebra 1 and 2 at Lyndon B. Johnson High School in the Austin Independent School District. He then taught 7th grade mathematics, 8th grade mathematics, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus and robotics at NYOS Charter School in Austin, Texas.
Daniel is a graduate of the UTeach program with a BS and MA in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin. His interests include argument-driven inquiry and the use of dynamic software in teaching and learning mathematics.
Interesting fact: Yes, the “P” is capitalized in FitzPatrick. But most people simply call him Fitz
