During his eight-year tenure in secondary education, Justin taught math and computer science (virtually and face-to-face) in both private and public schools. Versed in instructional design, Justin has created a fully adopted curriculum for courses such as AP Computer Science Principles and finite mathematics. Justin mentors new computer science teachers through the National Math and Science Initiative and recently participated in the first AP Computer Science Principles Exam Reading. Passionate about equity in computer science education, he has been active in organizations such as NCWIT and Girls Who Code.

Justin earned his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Master's degree in Math Education from the University of Montevallo. After obtaining his National Board Certification in Mathematics, he began his doctoral coursework in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Instructional Technology and Design at the University of West Florida.
