Strategic Alliance Director, Texas Instruments
Joanie Funderburk is the Strategic Alliance Director for Texas Instruments’ Educational Technology division. In this role, Joanie advocates for high-quality STEM education by elevating the voice of educators in policy decisions at the state and national level. Joanie’s previous work as Director of Facilitators at Illustrative Mathematics and Manager of Professional Learning at Student Achievement Partners, have allowed her to learn from and support teachers across the country in instructional advocacy efforts, and to hone her expertise in college- and career-ready standards and aligned math instruction. She serves as President of the Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and chairs NCTM’s Affiliate Relations Committee. Joanie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies, both from the University of Colorado. Joanie has 30 years of experience as a math educator, including nearly 20 years as a high school math teacher, more than six years as a district math coordinator, and adjunct instructor for pre-service math teachers at the college level.
