Degree Holders Interested in UTeach
Thank you for your interest in UTeach Natural Sciences!

The traditional UTeach Natural Sciences program is geared toward undergraduates and is fully in-person on campus with classes offered during the day. If you would like more information on the traditional program, you may email advisor@uteach.utexas.edu. However, we encourage you to first determine if UTeach for Texas for degree holders is a better fit for you.

Appeals
In some situations, students may wish to appeal UTeach coursework (taking some courses simultaneously, receiving credit for a course, requesting special permission, etc.). Students interested in appealing a course, are encouraged to first meet with a UTeach advisor to discuss the appeal and its impact on their overall UTeach coursework. Once they have met with an advisor, students can complete an Appeals Form which will then be reviewed by the UTeach Appeals Committee who will deliver a decision to the student in a timely manner.
University Statement on Advising
The University of Texas at Austin views sound academic advising as a significant responsibility in educating students, supports orderly and timely progress toward a degree, and encourages effective academic advising campus-wide. Academic advisors assist students in developing intellectual potential and exploring educational opportunities and life goals. Many people in the campus community contribute to the advising process, including faculty, staff, student, and professional advisors. Through the relationship established between advisor and student within a friendly, helpful, and professional atmosphere, a student has the opportunity to learn about educational options, degree requirements, and academic policies and procedures; to clarify educational objectives; to plan and pursue programs consistent with abilities, interests, and life goals; and to use all resources of the University to best advantage.
Ultimately, the student is responsible for seeking adequate academic advice, for knowing and meeting degree requirements, and for enrolling in appropriate courses to ensure orderly and timely progress toward a degree. Frequent advisor contact provides students with current academic information and promotes progress toward educational goals. The University supports that progress and encourages effective academic advising campus-wide.
UTeach advisors are located in the main UTeach office, PAI 4.02. We look forward to meeting you!
