Internship/Student Employment
Depending on your situation, the process by which you apply and are placed for a UTeach Internship differs. Select which option best fits your situation below. Please note that students must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours to hold an internship.
Reporting Your Time
Information about the Timesheet Schedule and Check Release Dates can be found here. You may also wish to install the Workday Mobile Application on your phone. If you need help with your timesheet, there are several videos available on how to enter your time, correct your timesheet, and view your available pay slips. Finally, don't forget to download the Remote Internship Work Log.
New Interns
Step 1: Review internship placements and use the Internship Choice Form at the top of the page to select your internship. Follow the instructions listed in the internship details.
(*if you have worked for UT in the past 12 months, then you will skip to step 5)
Step 2: Watch your email for a Background Check request from Workday, You will need to authorize this right away.
Step 3: Complete your New Intern Orientation by attending one of the SCHEDULED ORIENTATION SESSIONS.
Step 4: Complete your I-9
- Complete Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, will be sent to your UT email.
- Go by the UTeach Office (PAI 4.02) to provide original documentation to Cate Logan at the front desk.
Step 5: Wait for your INTERNSHIP PLACEMENT EMAIL before you start working.
Returning Interns
Step 1: Review internship placements and use the Internship Choice Form at the top of the page to select your internship. Follow the instructions listed in the internship details.

Interns with Work-Study Award
Step 1: Print the Work-Study Verification* (year, semester & amount).
Step 2: Present the form to UTeach Office PAI 4.02 (Attn: I-9 Representative).
Step 3: Complete the online Hourly Time Report.
Step 4: Complete Work-Study Forms. For more information please see the Work-study website.
* Your Work-Study Verification is confirmation that you have been awarded Work-Study for the current academic year. You can access it on UT Direct > CASH > Status/Requirements or from MyUT.
